Marius Precupetu (PhD, University of Bucharest) (b. 1970) is associate professor in the Political Science Department of the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA), in Bucharest, Romania (since 1996). His fields of teaching, research and expertise include methodology of social and political research, education studies, sociology of public opinion, European public opinion, social and political change, and democratization studies. Marius Precupetu has carried out several research projects on the democratization process in post-communist countries and on higher education (students’ scientific research, e-learning, students’ mobility, needs assessment of the national education system). He authored the volume Post-Communist Democratization and European Integration (Romanian Academy Publishing House, 2006), co-authored several other volumes (including Inequality in Romania: Dimensions and Trends. EdituraAcademieiRomane, Bucuresti, 2013, and Chapter 23: “Romania: High rising inequalities over two decades of post-communist transformation” in: Changing Inequalities and Societal Impacts in Rich Countries: Thirty Countries’ Experiences, edited by Brian Nolan and others, Oxford University Press, 2014), and published numerous articles in scientific journals.
