Professionalization and Social Impact of European Political Science

Marc Smyrl is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Montpellier. Ph.D. Harvard, GSAS: 1997. His current projects focus on two aspects of elaboration and reform of public policies: the development of open innovation networks in the context of the EU’s digital single market, and the relative influence of elite competition and inherited policy structures on contemporary choices for health policy reform in the United States and Western Europe
Other research topics have included issues of urban governance and the European Commission’s relations with national and regional authorities in EU member states.
